yata is one of the loudest, most out-spoken and gleefully destructive members of homra. he takes great pride in his clan and wields his aura with as much savagery as one would expect from such a hot-headed hellion. yata will gladly and mercilessly knock down anyone who talks trash about homra, up to and including those scepter 4 ass clowns.

the entirety of homra felt the weight of their late king's loss. however, with the emergence of their new king, anna, the red clan's spark has been reinvigorated tenfold. yata has become fiercely protective of the strain-turned-king, even more so than before, and is concerningly ready to crack open the skulls of anyone who dares lay a finger on her.

he feels some sense of guilt over mikoto's death, feeling as though he could have done more to stop him from going over the edge in the first place, but instead he had only encouraged mikoto's need for revenge despite the warning signs in his sword of damocles. because of this, yata wants to make up for it with anna, even if it means becoming overbearing.

yata is a rogue ninja from sunagakure. what started out as petty theft just to get by as an orphaned street urchin turned into more than he bargained for when he pick-pocketed the son of kaze no kuni's daimyo, who had come to visit the village. he was taken into custody and put on trial for high treason, but after making his plea, they decided against the death sentence and instead exiled him from the country.

since then, yata has been traveling alone, still relying on thievery to survive. his struggles have hardened him and, with the help of his shakuton kekkei genkai, he's earned a moniker for himself: yatagarasu, or more commonly just "the crow". his association with the mythical three-legged creature is in reference to his refined pick-pocketing skills, suggesting a metaphorical "third hand", so to speak.

yata is a sidekick of the endeavour agency. his quirk is an emitter-type called fire aspect, which allows him to cover anything he comes into contact with in flames that neither burn him nor the object (or person) they're covering, but will still inflict burns on anything else the flames touch.

he can control the power of his flames to a certain extent, such as using them to propel himself on a skateboard. he can let go of an object and still maintain its fiery coating for a short period of time, meaning he could launch a projectile with the enhanced speed of his flames and it will maintain its velocity for a few seconds after losing contact with him.

yata is a member of team homra in the kalos region, led by mikoto suoh. formerly a pokemon trainer, yata cut his losses after a humiliating defeat in the championship league at the hands of the elite four fire-type trainer, malva. he was so disheartened by his defeat that he gave up on being a trainer altogether in spite of his love for pokemon.

that was when he stumbled upon homra, who welcomed him into their gang as if he were meant to be there. there was no serious competition, just rambunctious camaraderie and good times. yata often wonders if he'll find the courage to challenge the league again one day, but for now he's more than content just to have fun being a part of something.
